If it was up to me....ban 4 life just like some other people already said...

Beeing stupid is no excuse, u were trying to get a rip off a games glitch, SO the wrong person in the story in the first place is YOU, not the scammer itself.

All he was doing was beeing an ass, you in the other hand was trying to exploit a games bug, sees the difference?!

Anyway, states about your mental capacities have already been overused, as well as the usefullness of this topic itself, maybe a close would be nice

Later.

Lynnrose, thx for that link, it inspired me ^^
*IF* I were as retarded as you, and I wanted to see if it was a genuine exploit, I would have started by dropping one ecto instead of all 79 of them.

I only see the box come up with my unclaimed items if the mission is successful. Never if we failed. Might just be coincidence but I thought that was how it worked.

But yeah, no sympathy for the OP for trying an exploit and losing out. Should get banned.

As said, I don't know how you can farm 70 ectos and not know how to avoid scams.
Like i said, greed is going to be the downfall for anyone in Guild Wars.

I appreciate you sharing your tale, it helps me feel better about how my day is going...

Take solace in knowing this was a virtual financial loss and you did not plunk your retirement fund in some similar ridiculous scam. This lesson may save you big time.

you sir are PWNED!!!!

anyway, yes, you deserved this, in future maybe if someone tells you there is a glitch you'll report to anet rather than try and abuse it. Heck there WAS a way to double full stacks of any stackable item... my guild found it, did it once on a set of wood and reported it once we confirmed how it was done... only thing that happened was an extra set of wood was created and we stopped people getting rich. (thank god this was prior to 55ing otherwise we would have had ectos turn into SoJs from Dii)

So yeah i'd support you getting banned actually, you deserve it.

I remember that guy in ToA...I whispered him saying that I don't believe shit and no one line up for him because GW servers don't allow for such things to be caused. They all left his group - he called me an ass and left ToA 1 to ToA 2.

Don't worry about it. I am sure a friendly moderator will lock this, if you ask. Tomorrow they've all forgotten you ever mentioned it

O. Henry is an old author whose books you can find in the library. He wrote a lot of entertaining "con man" stories, whose basis was that you cannot con a man who is not greedy.

Posting a scammers name is lame too... Especially if he didn't scam.

I didnt want an argument. If you look at the title of this thread, i know i was stupid. But life goes on. and calling me a scammer? geez. i never took advantage of another player like this guy did.

If you must know, i typed this guy's name into google. he has a history of scams, just this one didnt work. im actually quite prowed. luring those devourers to ghostly prevented him benefiting in anyway from this whole process.

oh and btw its just a game. the ectos arent the end of the world. i was only annoyed (dont go ranting on ''oh its yur fault'', ''u deserved it'' etc) about the time and effort put in to gain these items. at the end of the day they are pixels on my monitor, and do not mean nothing. but just the thought of people trying to steal from others m,akes me shudder. i DIDNT STEAL, did i?

If it worked, i would do it. If not many knew it, i would report it. It's just stupid to test it with a bunch of ectos :P

And you were quite stupid as you say ^^

If it was me i would just go with him and try to scam him instead of myself, and see how he react

Technically, you tried to steal from the system. Just because it's not a "person" you're stealing from the ethics go away.

Pity you got scammed.

Bigger pity you set yourself up for that by virtue of blatant dishonesty.

I think what he's trying to say is to learn from his lessons. And DO NOT fall into your greedy side of yourself. He knew he is going to be burned by posting this or he may even want us to feel pity for him but regaldless he posted it so we can learn from it. I think it is time for the moderators to close this thread for I know new guys that will read this thread will learn the lesson.....DO NOT TRY TO BEAT THE SYSTEM!!!

Do not get me wrong I feel sorry for you and to be perfectly honest how many players out there if shown the oppurtunity to make more will jump on that opportunity?

Can you pm me who the scammer is if it is allowed just out of interest?

How did you have time to pull devourers to the scammer but not have time to pick them up? Devourers would take forever to kill someone...
